Pepsi's ad that leaves Coca-Cola speechless: no one expected it in the US

The company surprises with Drips by Pepsi, three drinks available exclusively at Regal cinemas in the U.S

In the middle of summer, when the heat intensifies and the humidity becomes unbearable, one of the best ways to escape is still going to the movies. Watching the latest hits again in an air-conditioned theater becomes the perfect excuse to spend a few more comfortable hours. It's a habit that combines entertainment and relief from high temperatures.

Although the idea of seeing Pedro Pascal play Mister Fantastic or hearing Rihanna as Smurfette sounds appealing, there's an extra reason to visit movie theaters. Pepsi has decided to take an unexpected step that's got everyone talking. The company has launched a proposal that targets the area where Coca-Cola had the lead.

Drips by Pepsi: a different bet at Regal theaters

Pepsi has just introduced in the United States a completely new line called Drips by Pepsi. It's a collection of three exclusive drinks that aim to revolutionize the experience of having soft drinks at the movies. The company didn't just stick to new flavors, but created a concept that combines boba, trendy ingredients, and its classics.

The options include a Tropicana Cotton Candy Lemonade, a Pepsi Cherry Boba Burst, and a Starry Dragon Fruit Blast. Each drink is a blend designed to surprise, with elements ranging from cotton candy that dissolves in the cup to cold sweet cream foam. They've even added mini marshmallows as a topping on one of the offerings.

The idea is reminiscent of the combinations found at places like Starbucks or Sonic, but here the key is that you can only enjoy them inside a movie theater. Pepsi wants to turn an everyday moment, like ordering a soft drink at the popcorn stand, into a full experience. With this, it seeks to steal the spotlight from the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine.

A limited but exclusive experience

For now, Drips by Pepsi aren't available nationwide. Regal Cinemas has confirmed that the drinks can only be found in select theaters in several states. These include Alaska, California, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New York, Texas, and Washington, among others.

The full list of locations is published on Regal's official website, so those interested can check if there's a theater nearby. That exclusivity strategy generates even more anticipation, because it turns each drink into a kind of reserved prize. It's not a soft drink you can find at any supermarket, but something tied to the moviegoing experience.

With three new creations on the menu, Pepsi makes repeating a movie like "Jurassic World Rebirth" the perfect excuse to return to the box office. Summer thus finds a new attraction, with the brand standing up to Coca-Cola on its own turf. It does so with an unexpected proposal that's already setting a trend.
