Each month, millions of people depend on these payments for their livelihood. The delivery of these checks follows an organized schedule that adjusts to the beneficiaries' birth dates. If you were born between June 21 and June 31, you'll receive the payment today.
Who will receive their check today?
Today, June 25, beneficiaries who were born between June 21 and June 31 will receive their payment according to the Social Security schedule. This is the last Wednesday of payments in June. Previously, SSA distributed checks on June 11 and June 18 to those born between June 1 and June 10 and between June 11 and June 20, respectively.
SSA has a system so that almost all 70 million retirement, SSDI, and survivor benefit recipients receive their payment on the three Wednesdays of each month. Depending on their birth date, payments are distributed on different dates.
June 2025 payment schedule
Payments for the month of June were distributed as follows:
- Wednesday, June 11: Beneficiaries born between June 1 and June 10.
- Wednesday, June 18: Beneficiaries born between June 11 and June 20.
- Wednesday, June 25: Beneficiaries born between June 21 and June 31.
If you're a retirement, SSDI, or survivor beneficiary, remember that your payment is made according to this schedule. However, if you're part of a group that receives payments on different dates, such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries, the dates may be affected.
Payments outside the three-Wednesday schedule
Some beneficiaries receive payments outside the usual Wednesday schedule. If you started receiving benefits before May 1997, your payments are made on the third day of each month. In addition, SSI beneficiaries usually receive their payment on the first day of each month.
However, due to the month starting on a Sunday, June SSI checks were sent earlier, on Friday, May 30. Social Security retirees receive an average of $2,002.39 per month, according to the most recent figures from SSA. However, the maximum amount a retiree can receive reaches $5,108 per month.
Meanwhile, those who receive disability benefits get an average of $1,581.97 per month, while all death benefit recipients receive $1,566.66 monthly. SSI beneficiaries receive an average of $718.30 per month.
