Atlético de Madrid Achieves the Deal of the Century: More Than €100M for Signings

The red-and-white club could have a major source of income this summer

Atlético de Madrid has a unique opportunity to make a significant leap in their sports project. The new FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held from June 14 to July 13 in the United States, promises a windfall of millions for the participating teams. This means that the "rojiblancos" could be enormously benefited.

If Diego Simeone's team manages to become champions of the tournament, the total prize they would receive would reach 130 million euros. A spectacular figure that even surpasses the income obtained by Real Madrid in their last Champions League.

A Novel Format and a Mountain of Money at Stake

The new Club World Cup will bring together 32 teams from around the world and will distribute a total of 1 billion dollars (929 million euros) in prizes. Of this amount, 500M will be distributed in a fixed manner among the participants, while the remaining 429M will depend on the sports performance of each team.

In the case of Atlético, their guaranteed starting point is more than 20 million euros, but that figure could multiply exponentially if the team advances in the tournament. Round of 16 7 million, quarterfinals 12 million, semifinals 20 million, finalist 28 million, and champion 37 million. This means that if Atlético de Madrid wins all their matches, including the final at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, they could reach 130 million euros in prizes.

More Signings in Sight for Atlético de Madrid?

With such an economic injection, the "rojiblanco" club would have enormous leeway in the transfer market. The possibility of strengthening the squad with top-level stars would become a reality, allowing Simeone to build an even more competitive team to fight for all titles.

Atlético de Madrid will start their participation in the tournament by facing PSG (June 15), Seattle Sounders (June 19), and Botafogo (June 23) in the group stage. If they manage to overcome this first round and continue advancing, the dream of lifting the trophy and receiving a record amount of money will be closer.
