Atlético de Madrid already know who their eight rivals will be in the next edition of the Champions League, which will begin after the international break in September. The red-and-white team started the draw in pot 2, something that has been decided based on the UEFA coefficient that each of the European clubs has. The rest of the Spanish teams have started from pot 1 (Real Madrid and FC Barcelona) and pot 4 (Girona), although the draw is more equal than ever.
All teams will play eight matches against eight different teams , half at home and the other half away. In addition, each club will face two teams from each pot, something that UEFA decided to avoid the clashes being too uneven. The die has been cast for Atlético de Madrid in terms of the first phase of the next edition of the Champions League . The red-and-white team has started its adventure in this new format from pot 2 of the draw, something that has been decided by the UEFA ranking coefficient. The dates of the Champions League
The new edition of the Champions League will end later than usual as regards its first round, the old group stage. There will be eight rounds, starting the week of 17-18-19 September , just after the return of the first international break. In this edition, the difference in level that each team can find between the away and home games is key.
This first round of the Champions League will come to an end in September, with the last matchday being on the 29th of that month. It should be noted that the qualification system will also be different, with 1st to 8th place in the table going directly to the round of 16. On the other hand, 9th to 24th place will play a preliminary round that will take place between 11/12 and 18/19 February next year 2025.
This season, the Champions League final will be held at the Fußball Arena München in Munich, Germany. The last time the title was decided at this stadium was in the 2011-12 season, when Chelsea won it on penalties against Bayern Munich . It will be held on 31 May 2025, closing the season before the start of the new Club World Cup in June.
