Rodrigo De Paul's Funny Response About Leo Messi: 'the Dwarf Doesn't...'

The Atlético de Madrid player spoke about his national team teammate

Rodrigo De Paul, one of the key pieces of Atlético Madrid and the Argentine national team, once again delivered a fun moment in his latest interview. Always charismatic and with his laid-back style, the midfielder talked about various topics, but one of his most striking responses featured Leo Messi and his way of dressing.

In a conversation with Infobae, De Paul made it clear that the Argentine captain has improved in terms of style, but that he had something to do with that change. "The Dwarf doesn't dress badly, he's putting in the effort. For me, I planted the seed," he commented with a laugh.

De Paul, Messi's Fashion Advisor?

The Atlético midfielder confessed that Messi didn't always have the best taste in dressing, but over time he has improved and, according to him, part of the credit is his. However, Leo wouldn't admit it.

"He's very proud and won't tell me, but I was guiding him a bit. He starts winning 1-0, brands throw clothes at him, and then there are things that they tell me 'oh, it hasn't arrived yet' and then he has the photo with it. And I say 'but why?'. I get it, but send two...", joked De Paul, making it clear that Messi doesn't lack options in his wardrobe thanks to his global influence.

Rodrigo De Paul and His Passion for Fashion

Beyond his soccer, De Paul has become a reference for his style off the field. In the interview, the midfielder confessed that he dedicates time to his image and even uses Pinterest to get inspired by new trends. "I have a Pinterest board. I really like the looks and follow the trends, especially the vintage stuff from the 90s, which is coming back," he explained.

But despite his fame, the Atlético Madrid player also admitted that brands don't always give him clothes, as many believe. "Barefaced, they don't give you even a coffee. They applaud when I arrive, nothing more," he commented with a laugh.

Messi vs Cristiano: De Paul's View

In the same interview, De Paul was asked about Cristiano Ronaldo's words, who claimed that he is the best player in history. The Argentine's response was blunt:

"I don't want trouble, but anyone who has seen a bit of soccer or understands knows that there will be no one like Leo. What he did, what he achieved, and above all, what he caused in people is unique. Leo is art. Cristiano is a competitive animal, a tremendous scorer, but the 10 is art," he stated.
