Gonzalo Miró Responds to Brahim Díaz After His Words to Simeone: 'i Think It's A...'

The COPE contributor replied to the Real Madrid player

The Madrid Derby in the Champions League continues to generate controversy after Real Madrid's 2-1 victory over Atlético de Madrid in the first leg of the round of 16. One of the most talked-about moments after the match was the exchange of words between Brahim Díaz and Simeone, something that hasn't gone unnoticed by Gonzalo Miró.

At the end of the match, Movistar cameras captured Brahim Díaz addressing Diego Simeone with a repetitive "Talk now," referring to previous statements by the Argentine coach. In the pre-match press conference, Cholo Simeone had commented that he didn't believe Real Madrid would try to compensate in the midfield by lining up Modric. This would mean Brahim Díaz would be on the bench, something that, incomprehensibly, didn't sit well with the Real Madrid player.

Gonzalo Miró: "Brahim Has Very Thin Skin"

The journalist and well-known Atlético fan, Gonzalo Miró, was clear and direct on Tiempo de Juego of COPE, where he criticized Brahim Díaz's reaction toward Simeone. "I'm very surprised by the attitude of some players. Did Simeone say he didn't think Brahim would play because he thinks he's a dud? That's not something to get upset about, it seems a bit... This guy has very thin skin, very thin," he expressed forcefully.

For Miró, Brahim Díaz's reaction was exaggerated, since at no point did Simeone belittle the player. The red-and-white coach simply gave his tactical view of the match and didn't expect Real Madrid to bet on the Málaga striker in the starting line-up.

Gonzalo Miró's Analysis of Atlético de Madrid

Beyond the controversy, Gonzalo Miró also assessed Atlético de Madrid's performance at Santiago Bernabéu, highlighting the team's ability to overcome a poor start. "I think Atlético de Madrid has recovered very well from a start that could have meant a dark cloud for the rest of the match," he stated on COPE.

Atlético, after Rodrygo's initial wonder goal, managed to equalize the match thanks to a brilliance from Julián. However, they ended up conceding the 2-1 with Brahim Díaz's goal when the colchoneros were at their best in the match.
