End of the Melodrama: he is back to his Best and Josema Giménez is Already Celebrating

The Uruguayan regains his calm after seeing that the defense has been at its best in recent seasons

After a very turbulent season, the Atlético seems to be recovering its best form regarding its defense and Jan Oblak is responsible for this. The Slovenian goalkeeper is positioned to once again be the Zamora of LaLiga and win an award that would be historic. So historic that it would place him as the most Zamora trophies in the history of all LaLiga, a milestone that today he shares with Victor Valdés and Carles Ramallets .

The Slovenian has five Zamoras, the same number as the two goalkeepers at FC Barcelona, and Oblak wants to win his sixth trophy. If he does so, it will be another one of the records that he has been setting since he came to play Spanish football. He is already knocking on the doors of the TOP 5 of goalkeepers with clean sheets and he is very close to the TOP 3.

He has surpassed goals such as Santiago Cañizares and his next objectives are Victor Valdés and Iker Casillas , further away are Francisco Buyo and Andoni Zubizarreta . Oblak is already a legend of Spanish soccer and of Atlético de Madrid , he is the foreign footballer with the most matches in history. He has played a total of 462 matches, and has won four titles with the red and white jersey, a legend without a doubt.

Giménez and Reinildo See the Improvement

Players like Jose Maria Gimenez and  Reinildo Mandava is grateful for the recovery of the Slovenian legend , who has been key in recent games. His performance at the Parc des Princes already shows us that he has recovered from his problems and that he feels confident. As if that were not enough, he gave an assist to Griezmann who then served Correa to win in the Champions League , and no less than on a Parisian night.

But in Mallorca the same move was repeated, with Oblak this time kicking long with his feet, something that the goalkeeper born in Skofja Loka has always been criticized for. Jan kicked long and found Giuliano Simeone who ran deep to beat the Mallorcan center-back. He succeeded, and assisted Julian Alvarez to give Atlético de Madrid the victory on the Balearic island, three golden points.

There is no longer any talk of his departure.

There is no talk of Jan Oblak 's future, or of what he earns, or of the years he has on his contract, or of a possible departure from Atlético . That option and his departure from the Colchoneros always comes up and is not being discussed anymore. Neither the Premier League , nor Saudi Arabia , nor much less other markets that the goalkeeper doesn't like.

Saudi Arabia will go back for Oblak in the summer, but the goalkeeper's idea is to stay at Atlético de Madrid , he would only leave if it was to a team in Europe .
