Ford is facing one of the largest recalls in recent years. More than 355,000 trucks and pickups are being called in for inspection in the United States. The defect is found in the digital dashboard screens.
NHTSA has intervened to ensure that the vehicles don't put drivers' safety at risk. The malfunction, although not serious, could cause confusion. Ford has confirmed that the problem is software-related and will offer a free solution.

Affected vehicles and details of the defect
The affected models are the Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 from 2025 and 2026. F-150 from 2025 is also involved. The defect in the screen prevents key information from being displayed when starting the vehicle.
Ford has explained that the malfunction is due to the software. The solution will be a free update, either at the dealership or online. NHTSA has issued the recall to prevent possible risks.
The other recall: Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX with brake fluid leak risk
This recall is joined by another that affects nearly 500,000 vehicles, including the Ford Edge, manufactured between 2015 and 2018, and the Lincoln MKX, manufactured between 2016 and 2018. The problem is in the brake system hoses, which could break and cause a fluid leak. The leak reduces braking capacity, which increases the distance needed to stop the vehicle.

Ford has confirmed that there haven't been any accidents or injuries due to this defect. However, NHTSA has decided to act immediately and the recall will take place on August 28. This recall adds to the long list of problems the brand has faced in recent years.
What to do if your vehicle is affected?
If your vehicle is on the recall list, the repair will be free. Ford will send a notification to affected owners. You can also check by entering the vehicle identification number (VIN) on its website.
Don't ignore the notification; ignoring it could have consequences for your safety and also in future inspections. If you have questions, it's best to schedule the appointment as soon as possible. The repair is free and it's important to act quickly. Ford has faced more than 100 recalls since 2024. This highlights all the risks that come with the increasing complexity of new vehicles. As technology advances, so do the possible malfunctions.
