Sometimes, the most practical thing is to go for fast food. After an exhausting day or when you're in a hurry, going through a drive-thru can be ideal. In that area, McDonald’s remains a safe bet.
From Taco Bell to Pizza Hut, there are many options to choose from. But none have the reach and loyalty that McDonald’s has cultivated over time. Crispy fries, juicy Big Macs, and the always nostalgic Happy Meal continue to attract millions.

A move that puts McDonald’s ahead of the rest
In recent months, McDonald’s has made key decisions that have repositioned its image. After the return of its popular Snack Wraps, other chains like Popeyes and Sonic have tried to keep up. But the real surprise comes now, and it's about drinks.
The brand will launch five new drinks in September. This move promises to take the spotlight even from Starbucks, its rival in the specialty drinks field. Some of these options were already part of the CosMc’s menu, the short-lived restaurant spin-off from McDonald’s.
CosMc’s closed its five locations this summer. However, some of its most popular drinks will now be available on McDonald’s main menu. It's a strategic move that broadens the chain's profile beyond its classics.

The new Creamy Vanilla Cold Brew and Toasted Vanilla Frappé are aimed directly at coffee lovers. Meanwhile, the Watermelon Strawberry Refresher and Tropical Popping Refresher are clearly inspired by Starbucks's fruity flavors.
In addition, the Sprite Lunar Splash is coming, a carbonated drink with a special twist. Although it's not confirmed if it's the same Sprite Moonsplash from CosMc’s, it's expected to have a hint of citrus and vanilla, garnished with lemon and also dried blueberries.
Release date and teaser strategy
The release is scheduled for September 2. For now, it's just a preview of what's going to be added to the menu in the coming months. Everything indicates that McDonald’s wants to strengthen its role not only as a fast restaurant, but also as a provider of innovative drinks.
With this new offering, consumers could start to see McDonald’s as a real alternative to traditional coffee shops. Meanwhile, there's always the option of a well-chilled Diet Coke. But what's coming promises much more.
