It's official: Aldi announces the opening of all these supermarkets in the USA

The well-known low-cost supermarket chain is moving forward with its expansion strategy in the United States

The German-origin supermarket chain is continuing its ambitious expansion plan across the United States. This summer, Florida is becoming the epicenter of its new openings and conversions.

During July, Aldi will add six new stores in the state. Many of them occupy former Winn-Dixie locations, now transformed into smaller and more functional retail spaces.

A simple, efficient model with low prices

Aldi is known for its approach that differs from the traditional supermarket. With no bakery, butcher, or background music, everything is designed to offer cheaper products. Its stores have reduced hours, private labels, and a packaging policy that is the customer's responsibility.

At Aldi, customers must pay 25 cents to use a shopping cart, and this amount is refunded when the cart is returned. Coupons are not used, and there is no loyalty or membership program. Its store-brand items have a double return guarantee. Additionally, every week they launch "Aldi Finds," temporary offers that rotate by season.

All the new openings planned in Florida

According to Aldi's official website, there are 21 new stores with upcoming openings in Florida. Among them, Odessa stands out, opening on July 17, and those in Crawfordville, Jensen Beach, and Westlake on the 24th. On July 31, Port Orange and St Cloud will be added.

These locations are being added to 22 others that have already opened so far in 2025. Some are in Jacksonville, Sarasota, Tampa, or Leesburg, many in former Winn-Dixie locations.

The list also includes new stores in Fort Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach, North Fort Myers, Orlando, and Englewood. In most cases, Aldi has simplified the space, adjusted the assortment, and applied its low-price philosophy.

Goal: 225 new stores in 2025

The purchase of Winn-Dixie and Harveys's parent company in 2024 fueled this growth. Although many of those locations have already been sold, Aldi is keeping dozens of conversions underway for the coming months. The company's goal is clear: open 225 new stores in the United States this year alone.

This would be the highest number of openings in its history in the country. In total, about 220 Winn-Dixie and Harveys stores will be converted to the Aldi model before 2027. The next confirmed conversions include locations in Sebastian and Vero Beach.

With each opening, Aldi continues to gain ground in the competitive grocery market in the U.S. Its low-cost formula, efficiency, and private-label products keep convincing thousands of consumers.
