The upcoming summer transfer market could be one of the busiest in Atlético de Madrid's history, with many tasks to accomplish. It is true that last year deals were closed that allowed the club to offload players who seemed almost impossible to find a new destination for, but it was achieved. All of them, in fact, have landed in lower-profile clubs, showing that some were no longer up to the level of the colchonero team.
On the opposite side are the signings, which have adapted perfectly, all being important in different matches this season. However, both in the summer and winter markets, the need to finish strengthening the midfield remained, a necessity that has been ongoing for years. Therefore, the sports management, led by Carlos Bucero, is going to reactivate an option that was already close to being finalized last August.
Atlético de Madrid Repeats Target
According to Relevo in the preview of the clash between Valencia and the rojiblanco team, there were many discrepancies at the Metropolitano with a specific signing. Andrea Berta, already out of Atlético de Madrid, was in favor of Conor Gallagher, while Carlos Bucero preferred to bring in Javi Guerra. The Englishman's option was chosen, among other reasons, because Chelsea helped solve the problem that existed with João Félix.

Even so, they tried to close the deal with the Spanish international, but there was no room for maneuver, forcing the player to stay at Mestalla for another season. It seems that that failed operation did not please Rubén Baraja, who gave the footballer less prominence to the point of leaving him without minutes in several matches. The arrival of Carlos Corberán has allowed him to become important again, earning more starts and approaching his best level.
Valencia Is Open to Selling
It is already common for both clubs to close deals in the last decade, especially taking advantage of the poor situation the Valencian team is going through. Javi Guerra would be a perfect piece for Simeone, as he has a lot of room for growth and is fully adapted to LaLiga, something that doesn't happen with foreign reinforcements. Additionally, the Spanish market is going to be another point to exploit by Atlético de Madrid, something that was neglected in recent years.
At the time, the agreement for the player was for just over 20 million euros and a percentage of future sale, something that benefited all parties. The same situation occurs with Cristhian Mosquera, who is liked at the Metropolitano, but all offers were rejected by Peter Lim. Surely there will be negotiations again between two entities that until recently were still direct rivals in the championship.
