Atlético de Madrid is something that transcends beyond sport, especially for those who truly feel what it is to be passionate about the team and the red and white colours. Its fans always give their all, something that not all fans can boast of and which shows how captive they are to that love and feeling. Living up to the saying that they are the best fans in the world, the passionate fans of Atlético de Madrid are the driving force of the team in every game.

In last Thursday's match against Leipzig , a charming image flooded the social networks of the club's faithful. In this image, two elderly men were seen wearing their red and white shirts returning home after the important victory in the Champions League , something that moved the Atlético fans. Recently and after pleas from the club and the media to identify the couple, the identity of both has been revealed and they have been presented to the public.
Andrés and Nieves, a life following Atlético de Madrid
In an interview given yesterday to El Desmarque, Andrés and Nieves declared themselves delighted by their recent fame on social media and spoke a little about their life and Atlético . At 85 and 84 years old, respectively, both have been following the team all their lives, travelling not only throughout Spain , but also accompanying the club throughout the old continent. Their seniority badges attest to their love for the red and white colours and the fact that they go to the Metropolitano stadium every week at that age is a good example of their passion.

Andrés became a member when he was just 14 , paying for his membership with the first money he received as a youngster. Nieves, on the other hand, became a member later, going to Atlético de Madrid 's stadium with tickets for the team's matches at the old and legendary Stadium Metropolitano . Opening up to the media and telling what his life has been like following the club, the interview was not short of humour and jokes against the eternal rival, Real Madrid .
An exception in the family
The question was obligatory: "being two passionate Atlético fans since the beginning of the last century, is there a Real Madrid fan in the family?". Andrés , joking, answered saying that in his family "there is one" and that this exception "is a defect, what can we do about it...", which made his wife laugh. Having been season ticket holders for the club for over seven decades, both were clear about their future aspirations.

The hundred, the objective
Andrés , the longest-serving member, said that he hopes to "reach 100 years of membership and receive the centenary badge." The love affair is pursued by both of them and is the goal of two people linked for life to the Atlético de Madrid club, a milestone that is more than remarkable and of which they are proud. Waiting to achieve that last badge in their collection, Nieves and Andrés are already the standard-bearers of an Atlético whose fans they moved with their dedication and passion.
